Latest Veteran Drift Only Monday Angler!
Ten year old Hannah Coffman proved you don't need years of experience to catch a trophy king salmon on the Kenai. She and her dad Scott launched the 12 foot Fishrite drifter from RiverQuest Monday evening for some father/daughter communing with nature and a try for her first king salmon. As the saying goes, "always take a lady in the boat for luck"....well, ten minutes into the trip, before they had even worked the boat down past the campground Hannah made the connection. After a memorable battle with dad manning the oars and giving guidance and pointers at the same time, the fish eventually came to the net....a 52 pounder! Now her only worry is how to beat her newly established "mark" on the next outing. Needless to say she's Alaska's newest member of the "50 Pounder Club" and will be out there again probably next Drift Only Monday to give dad a run for his money.
