Marylin's Halibut Mykle

Need another quick and easy way to cook up halibut? I'd love to take credit for this deliciously simple dish, but alas the honor goes to my ex. This one has never turned out bad and it works EXCELLENT at the end of winter when the halibut has been in the freezer since last summer, or longer if frozen in water. If you try this with fresh halibut, it is absolutely outstanding.

The creamy mixture helps to moisten the fish and the high cooking temperature seals in the juices. Plus, it tastes sooooo good!

  • Rinse and pat dry halibut.
  • Roll fish in mayo/sour cream mixture to coat.
  • Then roll fish in crushed saltines.
  • Place in baking pan. Repeat with all fish chunks.
  • Spread any remaining mixture over top of fish.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees; bake for approx. 20 mins. or until fish is done.
