PLANNING NOTES: The river is open to salmon fishing to a point approximately 2.75 miles upstream of the counting tower where these numbers are taken. The counting tower is located at River Mile 1 1/4. Most fishing takes place in the vicinity of the tower and in the mile or so of the Salcha River downstream of the tower to the Tanana River. Since these counts are taken in the middle of the fishery zone, they are a useful indicator of current conditions an angler might find in the fishery.
